Jeff Bezos Now Wealthiest Person on The Planet

Jeff Bezos has once again secured the position of the wealthiest individual on the planet, surpassing Elon Musk, as reported by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index on Monday.

At present, the net worth of the Amazon founder stands at $200 billion, with Musk trailing at $198 billion.

Over the last year, Musk experienced a significant decline of approximately $31 billion in his net worth, while Bezos witnessed a noteworthy increase of $23 billion, according to the index.

On Monday, Tesla shares witnessed a decline of over 7%, contributing to the financial dynamics influencing the rankings.

Elon Musk had previously reclaimed the title of the world's richest person in May 2023, surpassing LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault, the head of a global conglomerate overseeing renowned brands like Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Celine.

The competition for the top position has been ongoing among the trio of centibillionaires - Musk, Arnault, and Bezos - for several months.

Bernard Arnault had held the coveted title, benefiting from a surge in luxury goods sales that propelled LVMH's stock price.

However, the latest reshuffling of wealth has reinstated Jeff Bezos at the helm of the richest individuals globally.
