Inter Milan extended their lead at the summit of Serie A by four points following a victory against Juventus, secured through a decisive Federico Gatti own goal.

In the 37th minute, a cross from the right struck Gatti's chest, giving Inter the lead.

Despite a resilient effort from Juventus, Inter maintained control. Marcus Thuram, set up by Federico Dimarco's precise low delivery, found himself in a goal-scoring position.

However, a crucial last-ditch tackle from Gleison Bremer thwarted Thuram's attempt.

With a game in hand over second-placed Juventus and third-placed AC Milan, Inter's position at the top of the table looks formidable.

The match saw moments of promise for Juventus, notably when Dusan Vlahovic squandered a golden opportunity due to a poor first touch following Weston McKennie's pass. Vlahovic also attempted an overhead kick from a corner that sailed over the bar.

Wojciech Szczesny, Juventus' goalkeeper, made notable saves, including a brilliant stop from Nicolo Barella's volley.

The goalkeeper also denied substitute Marko Arnautovic in the late stages of the game.

Inter Milan's defensive prowess was evident, as they remain the only team yet to concede a league goal after the 75th minute this season.

Looking ahead, Inter will face Roma on Saturday, aiming to continue their impressive form. Their last Serie A triumph came in the 2020-21 campaign.
