Elon Musk Reportedly Meets With Donald Trump

Elon Musk reportedly held a meeting with former President Donald Trump in Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday, accompanied by undisclosed wealthy Republican donors, according to information from three individuals familiar with the matter as reported by the New York Times.

The meeting comes as Trump actively seeks support from donors in preparation for a potential 2024 general election campaign against President Joe Biden.

It remains uncertain whether Elon Musk will offer financial backing or endorse Trump for his 2024 campaign.

As of now, neither Musk nor a representative for Trump's campaign has provided immediate comments on the matter.

In September 2023, Musk visited the White House to discuss artificial intelligence technology but did not meet with President Biden at that time.

Notably, Musk did not endorse Trump in either the 2016 or 2020 campaigns, and the two figures have experienced conflicts in the past.

In June 2017, Musk withdrew from advisory councils under then-President Trump, citing disagreements over the U.S. withdrawal from the Paris climate accords.

In 2022, Trump publicly referred to Musk as a "bull-- artist," alleging that Musk privately claimed to have voted for Trump.

Musk denied this assertion, stating that he first voted for a Republican, Mayra Flores, in a special election in Texas that year.

Musk has expressed both criticisms and support for Trump and Biden in public statements.

In July 2022, Musk tweeted that it was time for Trump to step aside, while Trump accused Musk of seeking help for his subsidized projects during his White House visits.

Since acquiring Twitter and rebranding it as X, Musk has become more vocal about his political beliefs, frequently aligning himself with right-wing political leaders globally.

In May 2022, Musk accused the Biden administration of sidelining Tesla despite its dominance in the electric vehicle industry.

Following Musk's purchase of Twitter with funding from Saudi Arabia in November 2022, President Biden raised concerns about Musk's potential impact on national security.

Musk had previously expressed inclination toward supporting Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who later endorsed Trump.

At the DealBook Summit in November, Musk stated that he would not vote for Biden, criticizing the administration's immigration policies on X recently.

He also expressed support for Republican candidates, including Marty O'Donnell running for Congress in Nevada and Jeremy Sylestine, a district attorney candidate in Austin, Texas.
