Chelsea orchestrated a comeback at Selhurst Park, securing a 3-1 victory and intensifying the scrutiny on Crystal Palace's manager, Roy Hodgson.

Despite Chelsea's dominance in the opening stages, it was Palace who took the lead in the 30th minute when Jefferson Lerma unleashed a precise shot into the top corner.

Mauricio Pochettino's team struggled to create opportunities until the 45th minute, as Palace aimed to frustrate and secure a crucial win to widen their five-point gap from the relegation zone.

However, just two minutes into the second half, Chelsea leveled the score when Conor Gallagher, on loan at Palace in the previous season, met Malo Gusto's bouncing cross and fired the ball past Dean Henderson.

Chelsea continued to press for a winner, and Gallagher delivered with a clinical first-time finish in stoppage time. Enzo Fernandez added a composed goal at the near post, lifting Chelsea to 10th in the table.

Entering the match on the back of an impressive FA Cup win against Aston Villa, Chelsea made a solitary enforced change, with Thiago Silva replacing the injured Benoit Badiashile.

Despite dominating possession and completing 420 passes in the first half, Chelsea struggled to break down Palace's defense, experiencing their highest pass count in the opening 45 minutes of a Premier League game without a shot on target since the 2003-04 season.

Pochettino made halftime adjustments, introducing Christopher Nkunku and shifting Cole Palmer to the right, resulting in a more fluid attacking display. Palmer's cross set up Gallagher's second goal, marking his third in two games.

Looking ahead, Chelsea faces crucial fixtures against Manchester City, Liverpool in the EFL Cup final, and Leeds in the FA Cup over the next two weeks.

Crystal Palace entered the match following a damaging defeat to rivals Brighton, adding pressure on manager Roy Hodgson amid inconsistent form.

Despite a solid defensive display in the first half, Lerma's early second-half strike was nullified by conceding goals just 80 seconds later.

Hodgson made changes, handing Premier League starts to January signings Adam Wharton and Matheus Franca due to the absence of key players Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze.

Despite the team's effort, late goals by Chelsea intensified the questions surrounding Hodgson's future.

Addressing concerns, Hodgson urged realistic expectations from the fans, considering the team's injury and selection issues.

Despite the setback, he emphasized the team's dedication and hoped for support as they face Everton and Burnley in their upcoming fixtures.

Palace remains 15th in the table.
