The Tasmanian Government will invest almost $600 million in housing and homelessness initiatives over the next four years as part of the 2026-27 Budget.

The funding package aims to strengthen frontline support services while continuing investment in new housing and infrastructure projects across the state.

Minister for Housing and Planning Kerry Vincent said the Government remained focused on protecting essential services despite ongoing economic pressures and tighter budget conditions.

Mr Vincent said international economic conditions were continuing to impact Tasmania's finances, making responsible and cautious budgeting necessary.

He said the Budget places a strong emphasis on frontline services, with housing remaining a key priority for the Government.

The Minister said Tasmania was nearing the halfway mark toward its target of delivering 10,000 additional social and affordable homes, while also maintaining important support programs for vulnerable Tasmanians.

He added that the Government's Building Tasmania initiative would help accelerate the delivery of housing and critical infrastructure projects statewide.

According to Mr Vincent, the 2026-27 Budget is designed to support both economic growth and stronger community outcomes across Tasmania.
