A man has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged vehicle attack in Wynnum on Sunday afternoon. Police allege that at approximately 12.10pm, a 27-year-old man was standing in the car park of a unit complex on Chestnut Street when a 29-year-old man, known to him, deliberately drove a Toyota LandCruiser towards him.
Attempted Murder Charges Laid Following Alleged Vehicle Assault in Brisbane Bayside
A man has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged vehicle attack in Wynnum on Sunday afternoon.
Police allege that at approximately 12.10pm, a 27-year-old man was standing in the car park of a unit complex on Chestnut Street when a 29-year-old man, known to him, deliberately drove a Toyota LandCruiser towards him on two occasions. On a third pass, the vehicle allegedly struck the man.
The driver left the scene but was taken into custody by officers about 1pm on Coolanna Street in nearby Lota.
The 27-year-old was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with serious head injuries.
The 29-year-old Lota man has been charged with attempted murder in a domestic violence context, as well as dangerous driving. He is scheduled to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, May 4.
