Trump has dubbed Harris 'Laffin' Kamala,' increased political attacks

Despite making clear their preference for facing Biden, Trump's campaign has also ramped up its attacks on Harris as pressure on Biden to step down has intensified in recent weeks.

"I think in many ways she may be easier than Biden," Trump said of Harris in an interview on the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show before the convention. Still, he said repeatedly he thought it was unlikely Biden would step down, given he had already locked up the nomination.

At his first rally since his attempted assassination Saturday night, Trump mocked Harris as "Laffin' Kamala" and criticized her laugh. "You ever watch her laugh? She's crazy," he said. "You can tell a lot by a laugh. No, she's crazy. She's nuts."

He also polled the crowd, asking if they'd prefer he face Biden or Harris. The crowd erupted into cheers when Trump mentioned Biden. Harris' name was met with boos.
