Winter storm snarls U.S. holiday travel across Northeast, Great Lakes

BOSTON (AP) – More than a thousand flights were canceled or delayed across the Northeast and Great Lakes regions due to snow as thousands took to U.S. roads and airports during the busy travel period between Christmas and New Year’s.

Farmers block roads in Brussels to protest South American free-trade deal

BRUSSELS (AP) – Farmers in tractors blocked roads and set off fireworks in Brussels on Thursday outside a European Union leaders’ summit, prompting police to respond with tear gas and water cannons as protesters rallied against a major free-trade deal with South American nations.

Trump-Zelenskyy to Discuss Security Guarantees

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Friday that he will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump in Florida over the weekend.  Zelenskyy told journalists that the two leaders will discuss security guarantees for Ukraine during Sunday’s talks, and that the 20-point plan under discussion “is about 90% ready.”
