Carlton coach Michael Voss has received full backing to continue in his role through to the 2026 AFL season, following a unanimous endorsement from the Blues board.

The decision was made during a board meeting at Princes Park on Wednesday, with incoming chief executive Graham Wright - who formally steps into the role next week - presenting a recommendation to retain Voss as senior coach.

Carlton president Rob Priestley confirmed the move in a statement, highlighting the club’s commitment to measured and strategic decision-making.

“Following Round 16, we made it clear we would use the remaining games to make calm, rational and fully informed decisions for the future of our football club,” Priestley said.
“The first of those decisions was regarding our senior coach. After Graham presented his recommendation to the board last night, it was unanimously endorsed that Michael Voss will continue as senior coach into next season.”

Voss has faced mounting pressure throughout a disappointing season, with Carlton currently sitting 13th on the ladder and holding a 7-13 record. The Blues are set to miss finals for the first time since 2022.

Despite the struggles, Priestley praised Voss's leadership during a challenging year.

“Michael's ability to lead under incredible pressure has demonstrated the qualities of a strong and selfless leader,” he said.
“He always puts Carlton first, and both he and Graham share a clear, aligned vision for improving our football performance.”

The endorsement brings clarity amid speculation over Voss’s future, with the club publicly reaffirming its support.

“We want to make it absolutely clear that Michael Voss is and will remain the coach of the Carlton Football Club,” Priestley stated.

Carlton faces finals-bound Gold Coast at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night. Voss is scheduled to speak to the media on Friday.
