Four teenage boys have been charged following a serious assault in Glenorchy on Tuesday that left a 33-year-old man with head injuries.

Four teenage boys have been charged following a serious assault in Glenorchy on Tuesday that left a 33-year-old man with head injuries.

The incident occurred around 3:30pm at the Northgate shopping precinct and involved a group of individuals. Detectives from Glenorchy Criminal Investigation Branch, supported by Taskforce Respect, responded swiftly to the altercation.

Today, four boys from southern Tasmania-two aged 14 and two aged 15-were arrested and jointly charged with Criminal Code Assault. All four have been granted bail with conditions.

The injured man was treated at the scene by Ambulance Tasmania before being transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital. He remains in a serious but stable condition.

Police investigations are ongoing, with inquiries continuing into those allegedly involved, including a review of video and CCTV footage from the area.

Authorities are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or may have relevant information to come forward.
