The outstanding work of Northern Territory nurses and midwives has been celebrated at the 2026 Northern Territory Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards, honouring professionals whose care and leadership continue to strengthen the Territory's health system.
The Northern Territory Government is strengthening healthcare services in Tennant Creek, with a $5.3 million investment to install a new CT scanner at Tennant Creek Hospital. The new scanner will allow Barkly residents to access faster diagnosis and treatment locally, reducing the need to travel to Alice Springs or other centres for medical imaging.
The Northern Territory Government is committing $4 million over two years to strengthen the Territory's position as a leading destination for global investment and to support long-term economic growth. The funding is designed to keep the Territory front of mind for investors across Australia, South East Asia and the broader Indo-Pacific region.
