Two people have died following a late-night head-on collision on the Peak Downs Highway, north of the central Queensland town of Nebo. Two Killed in Head-On Crash on Peak Downs Highway Near Nebo
Two people have died following a late-night head-on collision on the Peak Downs Highway, north of the central Queensland town of Nebo.
Emergency services were called to the scene, about 20 kilometres north of Nebo, shortly after 10.10pm on Monday, January 20.
Police say a westbound Toyota Hilux utility and an eastbound Mitsubishi Triton collided head-on under circumstances that remain under investigation.
The 49-year-old male driver and sole occupant of the Mitsubishi Triton was declared deceased at the scene. The 39-year-old female driver and sole occupant of the Toyota Hilux also died as a result of the crash.
The Forensic Crash Unit is examining the scene and the events leading up to the collision.
Anyone who was travelling on the highway at the time and may have information or dash-cam footage is urged to contact police.
