A 47-year-old Woree man has been charged following investigations into the death of a 76-year-old man in Earlville on December 6.
Emergency services were called to a Mulgrave Road property at around 8am after reports of a sudden death. Police allege the younger man, who was known to the deceased, assisted the 76-year-old in ending his life.
A crime scene was established at approximately 11.45am as detectives commenced inquiries.
Following these investigations, the 47-year-old has been charged with aiding suicide. He is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on January 9, 2026.
