Police are investigating a fatal traffic incident in Bajool, near Rockhampton, following a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Monday night. Emergency services were called to the Bruce Highway near Oakey Creek Road around 8:40pm on 13 January, after reports a white Ford Mondeo station wagon had struck a male pedestrian.

Police are investigating a fatal traffic incident in Bajool, near Rockhampton, following a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Monday night.
Emergency services were called to the Bruce Highway near Oakey Creek Road around 8:40pm on 13 January, after reports a white Ford Mondeo station wagon had struck a male pedestrian.
The pedestrian sustained critical injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Ford, a 29-year-old man from Keppel Sands, was treated by paramedics at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.
The Forensic Crash Unit is conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash and is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have relevant dashcam footage from the area at the time, to come forward.
Investigations remain ongoing.
