Fire and Gunshots Investigated Across Townsville Overnight

Police are investigating a series of early-morning incidents across Townsville after fires and gunshots were reported at multiple locations within a short timeframe. Emergency services were first called to a business precinct on Bayswater Road at Currajong around 4am on Sunday, where a building was found alight and sustained structural damage.

Police are investigating a series of early-morning incidents across Townsville after fires and gunshots were reported at multiple locations within a short timeframe.

Emergency services were first called to a business precinct on Bayswater Road at Currajong around 4am on Sunday, where a building was found alight and sustained structural damage.

Shortly after, police were called to a gym on Woolcock Street at Mount Louisa following reports that shots had been fired into the premises.

At approximately 4.30am, officers were then dispatched to Black River, where a vehicle fire was reported.

No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.

Police are examining whether the three events are linked and have launched an investigation.

Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incidents, or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage from the areas around the relevant times, to contact police.
