Man Charged Over Alleged Crime Spree Across Toowoomba
Detectives from the Toowoomba Criminal Investigation Branch, with support from the Darling Downs Tactical Crime Squad, have charged a 25-year-old man following investigations into a series of alleged property and vehicle offences across Toowoomba earlier this month.
Police allege that around 11.30pm on 19 April, the man broke into a medical facility on North Street, where a handbag was stolen along with a Hyundai i30 from the carpark.
The stolen vehicle was later tracked to an address in Oakey on 21 April.
Further incidents are alleged to have occurred on 22 April. At approximately 9.45pm, the man allegedly entered a Hyundai Santa Fe parked inside a garage on Wood Drive in Middle Ridge but fled after being disturbed by the homeowner.
About 15 minutes later, he is alleged to have accessed a Kia Picanto on Nielsen Court, also in Middle Ridge, stealing several items from both the vehicle and the garage.
Police further allege the man demanded money from a female resident before leaving the scene. She was not physically harmed.
Following inquiries, officers located and arrested the man at a Harlaxton address on 23 April.
He has been charged with three counts of entering premises and committing an offence, and one count each of armed robbery, entering a dwelling and committing, and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
The man is scheduled to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on 29 April.
Police are appealing to anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage to come forward.
