South Australia has secured a major sporting and tourism win, with Adelaide set to host both the men's and women's Australian Opens under a long-term agreement between the Malinauskas Government and Golf Australia. From 2028 to 2034, the newly redeveloped North Adelaide Public Golf Course will stage an Australian Open every year.
Adelaide's hotel and accommodation sector is continuing its rapid expansion, with a new Hilton development in the city's East End adding to a record pipeline of investment across the metropolitan area. The Hilton Adelaide East End will be constructed at 299 Pirie Street, strengthening the global brand's long-standing connection with the South Australian capital.
The State Government has confirmed a five-year extension of Serco's contract to manage the Adelaide Remand Centre. Serco has operated the facility since 2019, after the former Marshall Liberal Government privatised the centre under a seven-year agreement that included an option for a further five-year extension.
