More than 500 not-for-profit organisations across Queensland are sharing in more than $31 million following the Crisafulli Government's pre-Christmas Super Round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.

The record-breaking round focused on disaster recovery and resilience, with more than 100 organisations awarded the maximum $100,000 grant to help communities rebuild after severe weather and other emergencies.

The final Gambling Community Benefit Fund round of 2025 attracted the highest number of applications in the program's 31-year history, with more than 3,000 submissions received statewide.

Queensland's largest one-off community grants program supports a wide range of projects, including facility upgrades, equipment purchases, training initiatives and community events. As part of Round 124, funding will help restore damaged infrastructure, strengthen local preparedness and support communities impacted by declared disasters.

Successful recipients include Weipa State Emergency Service Support Groups Inc, which received $100,000 to purchase a new 4×4 vehicle to improve storm response capacity, and the Mackay and District Hack and Pony Club Inc, which will use its grant to upgrade facilities damaged by flooding.

Other recipients include Hervey Bay Bowls Club Inc, which is repairing a bowling green damaged during Cyclone Alfred, and Nambour and Hinterland Australian Football Club Incorporated, which will build coaches' boxes after repeated flooding left players and volunteers without shelter.

On Bribie Island, the Junior AFL Club will install new long-term, energy-efficient LED field lighting to replace lights damaged by heavy rainfall, while the Sunshine Coast Association for Sustainable Communities Inc will restore access and protect community gardens following extensive flood damage.

Attorney-General, Minister for Justice and Minister for Integrity Deb Frecklington said the Super Round was delivering vital support to communities recovering from natural disasters.

"Queenslanders have an unbreakable spirit, but events like cyclones and major floods can make recovery incredibly challenging," she said.
"This Super Round is about backing organisations across the State-from the Far North to the Gold Coast and out west-as they help their communities rebuild and prepare for the future."

Member for Pumicestone Ariana Doolan said the funding would make a real difference for grassroots clubs on Bribie Island following recent storms.

"Now more than ever our local clubs need support, and these grants will help them move forward with stronger, safer facilities," she said.

Bribie Island Junior AFL Club President Danielle McGrath said the funding would have lasting benefits for players and the wider community.

"We are incredibly honoured to receive a grant of this scale," she said.
"It will allow us to strengthen our grassroots pathways and provide high-quality facilities that will serve our community for decades to come."

The Gambling Community Benefit Fund distributes around $60 million each year to support Queensland communities. The next round, Round 126, will offer grants of up to $35,000 and is scheduled to open in mid-January, closing on 28 February 2026.
