Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred at Lake Barrine in Far North Queensland on Tuesday morning, 16 December. Emergency services were called to Gillies Range Road around 7:50am following a collision involving a silver Ford Courier and a white Mitsubishi truck.

Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred at Lake Barrine in Far North Queensland on Tuesday morning, 16 December.
Emergency services were called to Gillies Range Road around 7:50am following a collision involving a silver Ford Courier and a white Mitsubishi truck.
The driver of the Ford Courier, a 77-year-old man from Peeramon, died at the scene. The driver of the Mitsubishi truck, a 38-year-old man from Gordonvale, sustained minor injuries and was treated by paramedics.
The Forensic Crash Unit is examining the circumstances surrounding the crash and is appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage from the area at the time to contact police.
Investigations remain ongoing.
