Cash, Drugs and Firearms Seized in Brisbane and Gold Coast Raids

Police have seized significant quantities of drugs, cash and weapons during a series of search warrants carried out in Gaven, Cannon Hill and Upper Coomera on December 8 and 9. The operation, involving officers from the Organised Crime Gangs Group resulted in three people being charged with a combined 20 offences.

Police have seized significant quantities of drugs, cash and weapons during a series of search warrants carried out in Gaven, Cannon Hill and Upper Coomera on December 8 and 9.

The operation, involving officers from the Organised Crime Gangs Group, Ferny Grove CIB, Brisbane City TCS, Gold Coast RAP and the Brisbane Dog Squad, resulted in three people being charged with a combined 20 offences.

During the searches, police uncovered more than 1kg of methylamphetamine, 6 litres of GBL, 28 grams of cocaine, steroids, cash, two firearms, encrypted phones, cannabis, prescription drugs and various drug-related items including glass pipes, packaging equipment and electronic scales.

A 39-year-old Upper Coomera man was charged with multiple drug possession offences, possessing items used in a crime, failing to provide access to electronic data, and possessing drug utensils. He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court on December 10.

A 51-year-old Cannon Hill man was charged with several drug possession offences, possessing items used in drug offending, possessing suspected proceeds of crime and other related offences. He was remanded in custody and is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on December 10.

A 47-year-old woman was charged with possessing methylamphetamine and diazepam, unlawfully purchasing restricted medicines and possessing drug utensils. She is also expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on December 10.

Detective Acting Superintendent Craig Bowman said the coordinated effort demonstrated the Queensland Police Service's strong focus on tackling organised crime and reducing the flow of illicit drugs.

"This collaborative effort enhanced the results of the operation, disrupting the offenders, preventing them from committing further crimes and preventing a large quantity of illicit drugs from causing harm to our communities," he said.
