ACT advances legal reforms to boost protections and transparency

The ACT Government has progressed a series of legislative reforms aimed at strengthening community protections, improving transparency and modernising the Territory's legal framework. A package of reforms addresses emerging harms, streamlines justice processes, reduces unnecessary regulation and expands public access to information.

ACT Public School Enrolments Open for 2027

Families across the ACT will be able to begin enrolling students for the 2027 school year from Monday 4 May, with applications opening for children entering preschool through to year 12 at a new school. The ACT Government has confirmed that every child from kindergarten to year 12 remains guaranteed a place at their local public school within their Priority Enrolment Area (PEA).

Tough crackdown on illegal tobacco and vaping products in Canberra

The ACT Government has joined forces with the Australian Border Force and several partner agencies to carry out a major enforcement operation targeting the illicit tobacco trade across Canberra.
