PHOENIX (AP) - Matt Olson scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the 10th inning and the Atlanta Braves overcame Eugenio Suárez’s four home runs to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-7 on Saturday night.
Suárez became the 19th player in major league history to hit four homers in a game, but it wasn't enough for the Diamondbacks, who dropped their fourth straight.
Suarez's fourth homer - off closer Raisel Iglesias (1-2) - tied it at 7 in the ninth, but Atlanta rebounded in the 10th when reliever Justin Martinez (1-1) uncorked a wild pitch that allowed Olson to score easily.
They trailed 6-2 entering the seventh but Eli White’s two-run homer off Ryan Thompson cut the margin to 6-4. Atlanta scored three more runs in the eighth off lefty Jalen Beeks, who had given up just one run in 12 appearances before Saturday.
