Barnaby Joyce Joins One Nation
Former Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce has officially joined One Nation, following his departure from the Nationals during the final sitting week of parliament.
Joyce's move ends weeks of speculation after his split from the National Party, reportedly due to a breakdown in relations with party leader David Littleproud.
In a statement, One Nation leader Pauline Hanson confirmed that Joyce will continue to represent his New England electorate until the next federal election. She also announced that he intends to run as a One Nation candidate on the NSW Senate ticket at that election.
"I have always been upfront in inviting Mr Joyce to join our team, and it was always his decision," Hanson said. "I am pleased he has chosen One Nation and I welcome his experience, advice, and commitment to securing a fair go for farmers and regional Australia."
