NEW YORK (AP) - U.S. stock indexes held near their records. The S&P 500 edged up by 0.1% Monday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.2%, and the Nasdaq composite rose 0.3%. Stock indexes fell in Europe after Trump announced 30% tariffs on goods from Mexico and the European Union.
U.S. President Donald Trump repeatedly said during his campaign that, if elected to a second term, he would be able to end the war between Russia and Ukraine “in 24 hours.” But since his Jan. 20 inauguration, the road to a peace deal has been fraught with changing dynamics between the U.S. leader, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
A broken promise to release more information about the Jeffrey Epstein case has sparked outrage among some of President Donald Trump’s loyal supporters. The Justice Department last week said Epstein, who was facing charges of sex trafficking, did not leave behind a “client list.”
