Adam Scott has teamed with Hideki Matsuyama to give the International team a much-needed win but they still face a huge deficit in the Presidents Cup golf clash with the US.

Starting the day with the Internationals trailing 8-2, Scott and Matsuyama came alive to beat Cameron Young and Collin Morikawa 3 and 2 in Saturday morning’s Foursomes at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Their teammates Tom Kim and K.H.Lee also rose to the challenge, downing world No.1 Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns 2 and 1.  Kim was electric, making big putts for birdie (10th hole) and eagle (11th hole) to flip the match.

However, the Americans still managed to level the session at 2-2 as Jordan Spieth/Justin Thomas ran their record to 3-0-0 this week with a 4-and-3 victory over Corey Conners and Sungjae Im, and Tony Finau/Max Homa beat Si Woo Kim/Cam Davis, also 4 and 3.

Saturday features two four-match sessions with the Four-balls following in the afternoon – before the traditional 12-match Singles session on Sunday.

Spieth and Thomas were sent back out for the Saturday afternoon Four-ball – they will play Matsuyama and Taylor Pendrith – ensuring the U.S. duo will play all five matches. Im, Tom Kim, Matsuyama and Scott will play all five for the International Team.
