PRAGUE (AP) – Czech police said Tuesday that they have arrested a foreign national who claimed responsibility for using Molotov cocktails to attack a Russian cultural center in Prague last week.

Oil prices sink and US stocks reach another record

NEW YORK (AP) - Oil prices sank, and stock markets burst higher worldwide with hopes that a deal is nearing to allow tankers to deliver crude from the Persian Gulf again.  On Wall Street, the S&P 500 climbed 1.5% and reached another record. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 1.2%, and the Nasdaq composite rose 2%.

Unknown attacker threw Molotov cocktails at a Russian center in Prague

PRAGUE (AP) – An unknown perpetrator threw several Molotov cocktails at a Russian center in Prague promoting culture and history, Czech police said on Friday.  The incident in the Czech capital took place late Thursday and is now being investigated, they said. The building of the center did not catch fire.

Czech police arrest 3 over arson at drone warehouse supplying Ukraine

PRAGUE (AP) – Police in the Czech Republic said Tuesday three suspects have been arrested after a fire destroyed the warehouse of a company supplying autonomous drones to Ukraine.  The fire is being investigated as suspected arson linked to terrorism, police said.

Poland warns Russia is moving from low-cost recruits to professional sabotage cells

WARSAW, Poland (AP) – Russia is shifting from individual recruits to ‘professional’ networks to carry out a campaign of sabotage and other attacks across Europe, Poland’s internal security service said in a report published Wednesday. European officials and law enforcement have previously warned that Russia is waging a hybrid war against Europe.

Czech police detain dozens in soccer match-fixing scandal

PRAGUE (AP) – Czech police detained dozens of people in a soccer match-fixing scandal on Tuesday. Czech Football Association head David Trunda said it started the case several years ago by alerting police to its suspicion of match fixing and bribery, without elaborating. Local media reported it happened in the top four club leagues and possibly youth competitions.
