CLP Government invests $4 million to elevate Territory's global investment profile
The Northern Territory Government is committing $4 million over two years to strengthen the Territory's position as a leading destination for global investment and to support long-term economic growth.
The funding will support a proactive investor engagement program designed to keep the Territory front of mind for investors across Australia, South East Asia and the broader Indo-Pacific region. It is aimed at ensuring the Northern Territory remains competitive amid increasing global competition for capital.
A major feature of the initiative will be the second NT Investment Summit, to be held in Darwin in July 2026. The summit will bring together investors, industry leaders and key decision-makers to connect investment capital with emerging opportunities across the Territory.
The program will focus on priority growth sectors including energy, defence, agriculture, mining and tourism, supporting efforts to attract new projects and strengthen existing investment pipelines.
Minister for Trade, Business and Asian Relations Robyn Cahill said global competition for investment was intensifying, and ongoing engagement was essential to avoid losing opportunities to competing jurisdictions.
She said the Territory's strengths-including its world-class critical minerals resources, productive agricultural land, strong renewable energy potential and close proximity to South East Asian and Indo-Pacific markets-position it strongly for future growth.
"This investment ensures the world knows exactly what the Territory has to offer," she said.
The initiative forms part of the Northern Territory Government's broader focus on Growth, Certainty and Security, aimed at building confidence and driving sustainable economic development.
