India delivered a ruthless performance against Pakistan at the Women's T20 Asia Cup in Dubai, completing a seven-wicket victory after dismissing their rivals for the lowest total in Pakistan's women's T20 international history.

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first at the Dubai International Stadium on Saturday, making a reasonable start before their innings unravelled dramatically.

After reaching 27 without loss, Pakistan lost wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bowled out for just 55 in 18.1 overs. India's spinners were largely responsible for the collapse, applying relentless pressure as Pakistan struggled to build partnerships.

Shree Charani and Prema Rawat led the attack with three wickets each. Charani produced an outstanding spell of 3-7 from her four overs, while Rawat claimed 3-9. Deepti Sharma also made a major contribution, taking two wickets while conceding only five runs.

Pakistan initially looked capable of posting a more competitive total. Muneeba Ali and Shawaal Zulfiqar put together an opening stand of 27, with Muneeba scoring 13 and Zulfiqar contributing 14.

The breakthrough came when Shafali Verma bowled Muneeba, opening the door for India to take control.

Charani then struck twice in the sixth over, removing Gull Feroza without scoring before dismissing Zulfiqar. Pakistan had suddenly slumped to 29-3.

The situation deteriorated further. Pakistan reached 32-4 in the eighth over before Rawat and Sharma tightened the pressure. By the 13th over, Pakistan were 45-7 and facing the prospect of being dismissed for a remarkably low score.

The final three wickets fell with the total on 55, leaving India needing only 56 runs for victory.

The score represented Pakistan's lowest total in women's T20 international cricket, eclipsing their previous low of 63, also against India, during the 2012 Women's Twenty20 Asia Cup.

India briefly tested in chase

India's pursuit of the tiny target was not entirely straightforward, however, as Pakistan managed to create a brief moment of uncertainty.

Fatima Sana led Pakistan's resistance with the ball, claiming 3-17 and helping her side remove three Indian batters.

But with only 56 required, Pakistan had little margin for error. India eventually reached 57-3 in just 8.4 overs to complete a comfortable seven-wicket victory.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur remained unbeaten on 18 and calmly guided India across the finishing line, ensuring there was no late twist.

The result extends India's perfect campaign in the tournament. They have collected six points from three matches and have already secured their place in the semifinals.

Pakistan, meanwhile, face a must-win situation in their final group match against Hong Kong. They remain on two points and will need victory to keep their hopes of reaching the knockout stage alive.
